Check out StarForge - a game inspired by Halo, Warcraft 3, and Minecraft. It borrows elements from the RTS, FPS, RPG, Voxel Builder, DOTA, and Physics Sandbox genres. But since we can't peg our games genre, we like to just call it Fort Wars.

Welcome to the StarForge ModDB!

We are happy to share our game with you. My name is William Sworin, and my friend that I am developing the game with is Steve Smolley. We also have Kevin Greenlee "LoudCore" making the music for us. We hope to update everything every few days... as well, please let us know what you think and want from the game.

StarForge is a game about gathering resources, building bases, buying weapons, using strategy, and destroying your opponent’s bases to win the match. It is real time and set in a first or third person perspective. Set on an alien planet, the theme is high technology, mixed with old world building mechanics. Earth has been depleted and the humans transferred as much technology and resources as possible and left on a one way mission to populate another planet.

- Features the world's first full-fledged 3D tileset.
- Fresh approach at first- and third-person shooter dynamics, where all events and objects are physically simulated, including your own body.
- Fully malleable terrain, allowing tunnelling, burrows, caves, cliffs, mountains, and hills - all of which you can make yourself.
- Fully destructable vegetation; you'll need this to gather it.
- Plus much more coming soon.

HOLY SHI-
This looks astonishing!:D

I'd vastly prefer a first-person view, though.

Hows about a little valve inspiration. Like, say, a portal gun? lol. But no seriously, this game is looking good. Keep pumping it with content!

Sooo happy everyone seems to like the game. lol, a portal gun would be cool, but probably not for the gameplay were cooking up.

As for the Free To Play, I'm a bit of a fan of League of Legends, and I kinda like how you can just play the game for free with your friends, and if you wanna be someone else you can either earn it by playing the game lots, by waitin for the champion to become in the free rotation, or just buying it. So that's kinda the premise were going for.

Example, when we release we wanna have a few heroes for free, like your basic shooter, miner, and builder. Then down the line lets say we add a crazy bastard that lays barbed wire everywhere and builds these weird metal structures... you can then either earn him for free by playing the game or by just purchasing him outright.

This will not be pay to win, you just expereince a different flavor of things like in League Of Legends. You wont be paying for individual stats or weapons stuff, just heros that are balanced with whatever is free at the time.

Does this seem fair?
