Beta 3 brings a lot of new features and improvements. One example is what can be seen in the screenshot - a nice visual indication of which family did what last turn, brought up simply by hovering over their home or any of their "history bubbles".
There is also an easier registration process, improved visuals, improved performance and a lot of bugfixing.
The beta test is still open for additional testers and you can join it by simply going to the download page and installing the client:
