Rush Stop is about the adventures of a little kid on their tumultuous journey to catch the bus on time. A rather simple premise, but the obstacles on this kid’s way will make it challenging to reach the bus on time.

Update on game mechanics and the programming side of things.

Posted by on

This week's post is a little more focused on the programming side and the mechanics of the actual game, so the text ahead is going to be typed by the project's programmer.

Overall, everything is going according to plan in terms of implementing the desired mechanics we wanted in our game since the beginning. We are working on environmental hazards such as world objects that will slow down the player in order to have something ingame that poses as a challenge to the player and also creates the necessity of a certain level of player skills and attention to the game while playing.

The green object in the picture represents a bush that slows down the player when in contact.
After fully and safely implementing this mechanic to our game, we will begin closed game testing with chosen test subjects to then tune and refine the things we already implemented in the game, according to the feedback we will receive, in order to achieve the feeling of adrenaline we began to conceptualize in the start of the whole process.
We will also begin working on level sections and level design soon.

(Early sketches of possible level elements, had to wake up the game designer to get this photo, sorry about that ;-;)

That's all I have to offer for now, stay tuned for more development updates!
