A third person action brawler where two teams of six players each, fight using magical abilities over different maps. Take control of a wood spirit and collect different abilities scattered over the map to destroy the enemy team. The game will feature several different abilities all with a magical theme and advanced physical effects. Root force is developed by a small university team using our own engine with additional third party libraries such as Bullet physics and more. It is currently being developed as part of a school project but it is our hope to release it after the course is finished in March.

We attended the Swedish Game Awards 2014 conference, and learned a lot about our game, what players want, and design.

Five members of our team (Gustav, Patrik, Martins, Kim, Joel) attended the Swedish Game Awards 2014 conference, and showcased Root Force. It was a long, sleep-deprived trip, by car from our home town of Karlskrona to Stockholm, but very interesting and fun once we got there. The conference lasted 2 days, and many big companies from the game industry were there. We met the winners of last year's SGA, Dead Shark Triplepunch, makers of Epigenesis. They gave us very helpful tips for how to improve our user interface! We also got to meet the journalists behind The Square (www.northlandsquare.com), a game industry magazine, and they loved our game!

Now we are back in our office in Karlskrona, with 50 pages of player feedback, working hard to smash the last bugs before our course deadline next monday.
The course may be over soon, but Root Force will live on. We have another deadline: the Swedish Game Awards submission deadline. See you at the SGA Expo!
