Pets Thread - Rogue's Tale

How can I know what food an animal wants?

meat - dog
fried meat - wolf ?
egg - ?
fried egg - ?
chease - ?
bread - ?
blood cap - ?
fried cap - ?

I didn't even know you COULD have pets in the game until I saw this thread.. How do I get a pet? -Tottaly Clueless-

Got this list so far for the foods (spoiler alert)

fried meat: wolf, meat: dog, bread: spider, egg: snake, fried cap: welp??, cheese: rats / polymorphed bear

So how can I tame a bear? First they needs to be polymorphed?

That's right. Polymorph the bear into a rat (ideally using a scroll - it'll flatten you if you gamble on a weapon of polymorphing), feed it cheese, watch it flatten *everything*. The only catch is that you probably won't get much xp after that, because it'll be killing everything instead of you. Also, keep a second polymorph scroll and piece of cheese handy in case a source of confusion or an archery miss or something makes you attack your own bear and turn it hostile.

Just confirmed: no. Other polymorphed monsters treat the cheese as a non-standard thrown weapon and basically ignore it.
