Annoying Interface Dog Thread - Rogue's Tale

Hey guys, I thought it would be nice if we could tr yand put together a list of his tips, because getting them all gives you a nice heritage and I see a lot of new players saying they can't get one.

So here we go: Basic Intro
Falling in a pit
Getting a Talent
Getting a Spell
Gaining an Ally
Using a range weapon
Using a slow weapon (crossbow)

What other have you guys noticed?

Almost right. More comprehensive list:

• Basic Intro (killing creature, movement, inventory control)
• Getting a Talent Point
• Getting a Talent
• Getting a Spell
• Opening a Spell window after getting a spell
• Gaining an Ally
• Equipping a ranged weapon (branch, bow, recurve)
• Equipping a Crossbow
• Finding a Pit
• Triggering a Trap (falling in a pit, stepping in spikes etc.)
• Gaining any heritage (probably the easiest to complete is Potion of Antidote Heritage (reaching lvl 5 in demo, lvl 10 - in full game))
• Clearing a Dungeon

I think I may have a bug on my account. I have seen all of these interface dogs, and have /resetdog multiple times. If it is true that you get a dog for completing the potion of antidote heritage, I have already completed this challenge, and since heritages cannot be reset, if there was a bug at the time that I completed this heritage without seeing the interface dog, there doesn't seem to be a way for me to complete this heritage.

It should trigger on any heritage and not just the antidote so you should be able to finish it unless you have all other heritages done.

I can't seem to trigger the "Search button" hint. I searched for and found traps, I stumbled into every possible trap. No idea how to make this hint show up.. Help!

You need to step on trap that sounds almost like a foamy golden drink (or a foamy black drink if you're into world records).

I have completed tutorial 2 times. I typed /dog and there were no red (uncomplete) entries. But I still can't get that dog heritage... I have unlocked 6 other heritages already. Now I have reseted the tutorial for the 3rd time and I'm praying that it will work this time when I will get 7th heritage. My account in game is DayElven.

Hmm, I snatched your data and all other tutorial entries were done except the "Gain Heritage" entry. Using your data, I did get two heritages upon gaining one and I don't know why it doesn't work for you =(

However, I can think of two different ways to work around it:

1. When you unlock one of the heritages and it prints out those two lines "You have unlocked a new heritage!", log out before moving further and it should wait until it has received a message from the server (and the data should be saved).

2. Do a /resetdog and leave one of the easier heritages, such as Reload weapon, as your last tutorial entry (never equip a crossbow before you have all other entries unlocked). This should lead to a situation where only one package is sent to the server and maybe it helps in your case.

I'm having an issue where all of the items are completed except for the hotkey spell. I've assigned hotkeys (1,2,3...) to spells several times but I dont remember seeing the dog pop up. Should I reset and start over?

Hmm, apparently the hotkey tutorials can only be reached once after seeing the tutorials that lead to them and you will have to start over =(

Am I to understand the "Reload Weapon" on the tutorial dog is bugged? It's the only thing I have left that the dog hasn't cleared.. and I primarily use my crossbow for range right now. Does this mean I have to start the dog thing over again?!? :c Please tell me it isn't so.

Reload weapon is not bugged, it was just an example. If it hasn't triggered for you, then you're using a repeater instead of a crossbow and it doesn't have to be reloaded (which is required to trigger that entry).
