Box art is an important part of a game imagery, let's take a look at our artist latest work.

We love box art, since the time of the Atari vcs, illustrations helped give a face to the mass of pixels we used to play with. We strongly believe it's a very important part of a retro style game.

Game's official Box Art

Let us introduce you one of our main characters, 'the Ace', who just used a manned flying torpedo to hijack a nazi disc tank (Scheibepanzer).

Just behind her, in the background, you can see the disc battleship 'Katherine', the most advanced flagship of the nazi army in may '45, now captured by the allies and renamed 'Rogue Star'. This 'ScheibeKriegsschiff' or disc warship will be the central hub of operation during the game, so it had to be part of the cover.
The whole image had been designed to mimic the comics of the war period; the action unfold in a single big scene, the palette is very limited to simulate the four colors print process and, finally, the inking is strong and with the ink pen marking clearly visible. Even a fake title and price tag had been added to simulate the comic cover.
Our artist had liked to add a war bond purchase advertising, and other propaganda headlines, as it was custom at the time, but it could had diverted too much the attention from the true purpose of the drawing, so we tied him and obliged to publish as it is.

Overall the drawing captures the feeling of the game, and the over the top action we want to deliver to the players, but most important, if you are reading this, it captured your attention

'The Ace' had already conquered our hearts and our desktop wallpapers, soon enough she will flying-torpedo-hijack your computers!

The art is cool... does she really have to wear such a short shirt? Have you followed the debate these past years in the industry about over-sexualized female characters?

lol, you meant badass girl in man's clothes that ride torpedo and kicks nazi face in story set in times when even voting of women was questionable (and showing off stomach was almost a crime!)? or maybe some other, hidden character that I somehow skipped when being smashed into my chair by awesomeness of this feminist heroine?
