PSI is a turn based RPG. The easiest way to describe it to someone who is familiar with the genre would be to say that it has a story that resembles Earthbound, the gameplay mechanics are closer to Chrono Trigger, and the graphical style is very Paper Mario. That’s oversimplifying it a bit but that gets the point across rather well. Going into the subject a bit deeper it’s about Nightmares becoming reality. PSI’s story is about contrasts, during the daytime everything is fine, people go about their daily lives oblivious to the nights terrors. At night anyone who has not unlocked their psychic potential is transformed by any Nightmare they were unlucky enough to get caught up in when the person who created it snapped. I tried to bring this contrast out in the art style, the visuals for the characters and the daytime worlds are very light and cartoony while the night time segments are far more dark and foreboding. A lot of care has been put into making everything fit just right.
