I'd love to hear your thoughts on my plan for this game mode. Like I've mentioned in previous articles, I believe it is critical to have a variety of experiences for the player, to keep a relatively simple job interesting. This will be one of the three main game modes that my initial focus will be on.

The primary idea of this is to recreate the "Nazi Zombies" from the original Call of Duty World at War game, but obviously from an AC-130's perspective. The ultimate goal is to protect a friendly combat outpost (COP) from invading zombies, for as long as possible.

  • Zombie kill counts and waves survived will produce currency to purchase better weapons, ammunition, and additional base upgrades to keep the COP in the fight.
    • Weapons: The scenario will begin utilizing only (1) weapon slot, which will be equipped with the Vietnam era GAU-2A mini-gun. The player will be able to purchase additional weapons (for the (2) other weapon slots) or replace equipped weapons with others.
    • Ammunition: The scenario will require a good amount of diligence from the player to conserve ammo and purchase more as it begins to run out. This will be an important part of finding success throughout the scenario. The player will also have access to purchasing an expensive, MOAB (Mother Of All Bombs) that will kill all zombies spawned in the map. Everyone needs a safety net every now and again.
    • Base Upgrades: The player will be able to purchase the following upgrades to the COP
      • Upgraded towers, sporting additional guns
      • Trip-wire land mines
      • Additional barricades to channelize the enemy
      • Add AT-4 rockets to the towers
  • Each additional wave will increase the zombie count and eventually their speed.
  • Depending upon how it turns out, I may add new types of enemies that present new challenges (i.e. can take more hits, are faster, etc.) This is to be decided however...
  • The game will end as soon as a zombie is able to enter the COP and spread his infection to the friendlies.

That's pretty much it. Not too complicated, but hopefully will be a positive addition to the game. Let me know if you have any thoughts on this...
