Description
1881. Humans hunger for knowledge in an age of rationalism. No area of study is too dark. No area of study is denied... Delve into the dark and captivating world of Possession 1881, a point and click puzzle adventure. A game about intellect, art, and the occult in the Victorian Era. From demon sigils to cement to talking dolls, the game's atmosphere is authentic to the time. Science, history, and art all inspired the design of numerous unique puzzles that will dare your mind to find new connections.
History
For 15 years, Jared and Danielle Lemky have sought to find and master the tools to make their own independent, dark, and mature computer games. From Ogre with its early open-source engine, to Blender before the Google summer of code, to Unity in its early stages, and finally to present day Unity, they learned to develop and create games.
Possession 1881 was inspired from a single poem recited one night at a pub in Ulsan, Korea - "There was a little girl...". The atmosphere the speaker conveyed while reading it inspired Jared to create a dark occult themed game set in the Victorian era. Jared and Danielle both used their passion for history, science, and puzzles to create a game that is accurate and factual, and puzzles that are interesting and challenging.
