Pokémon3D is a recreation of the old Pokémon games Gold/Silver by Nintendo/GameFreak (but, of course this game has nothing to do with them ;) You're the hero of the game, and as usual, you want to be the best Pokémon trainer of all time. So let's go, visit some grass and catch, battle and defeat wild Pokémon, explore towns and routes in 3D, collect items and Pokémon, play with a friend in LAN co-op and much more. The game is currently under development and features are added frequently.

So I figured I'd kick off an official list people can contribute to :)

NOTE: Please read all bugs before posting to prevent double ups.
I will delete the bug if it has been fixed in the latest version :)
I added a section for the next patch fixes to add some more organization to the mess :P

Next Patch Fixes:

  • First battle in fullscreen mode may cause the game to lock up
  • Pressing the 'K' button anytime after that (except during attack animations) closes the battle and takes you back to walking around on the map.
  • Pressing the 'K' button before your pokemon has been sent out to battle freezes the game.
  • Kakuna cannot evolve
  • Shutting down the PC whislt holding a pokemon causes it to dissapear
  • Can't enter route 37
  • Can't enter the route 46 building
  • PokeMarts do not require you to pay for items
  • You don't get transported to a Pokemon Centre when your Pokemon faint
  • Planting berries may cause an error to occur
  • If you move whilst the old man is showing you around you can be glitched outside the map

Known Bugs:

  • Cannot enter Mr. Pokemons house
  • Trying to enter Slowpoke well, the game glitches and you get stuck going back and forth between the entrances to Route 32 and Violet Town
  • Using Berries in battle may also cause an error
  • All starter Pokemon have the ability to learn Overgrow
  • Pokemon do not appear in either caves
  • Rival is staring at a blank wall and not a window
  • Sometimes pokemon won't learn moves regardless of level
  • BRN Status does nothing in terms of damage
  • No announcement of pokemon learning new moves
  • Attacks can not miss/fail
  • Grass patch near sign "Lind-Pokemon-Labor" has no pokemon encounters
  • Can't back up ("S" doesn't do anything)
  • During a fight if a pokemon faints and is recalled the next pokemon will be referred to as the fainted pokemon on attacking
  • Kurt never actually takes your Apricorns, he duplicates them and leaves you with the same ones in your pouch
  • Pokemart in Azalea Town takes you into Pokecenter, comes out in Cherrygrove
  • In Union Cave, there is a "hole" in the cave wall graphic off one of the offshoots nearthe exit to Azalea Town
  • Routes 30, 32, 33, and 36 do not have battles/wild pokemon

Violet City:

  • Cannot Enter houses/Big temple or PokeMart
  • Pokemon Centre takes you back to the CherryGrove PokeCentre
  • Entering the GYM takes you back to the Lab
  • The gate on Route 32 is the Route 31 gate right back into Violet

Ok can fix most of these bugs, I am working on fixing most of them ;)
Keep posting bugs if you found some, I will try to fix them.

The error with planting berries (I assume its when the inventory window opens) also happens if you open the inventory mid-battle.

Game lacks the ability to change controls (a bit annoying for me because I have an AZERTY keyboard).

Also, adding antialiasing and fog between levels would be nice, but that's not bugs just suggestions. :D

Have you installed XNA?
Google for an installer if you haven't, it was the reason mine crashed. :(

The old man bug also happens in Elm's Lab(you can go through the bookshelves)
Not only starter pokemons, my rattata also seem to have the ability OvergrowPokemon also don't appear on the way to Mr.Pokemon's house

Sometimes the game crashes for me when switching pokemon in battle, anyone experienced it also?

Can someone please explain how exactly they can walk while the script is walking for you?
I cannot reproduce this :D

Not sure about how the old man one, but on Elm's Lab, I found it like this
When moving adjacent to the bookshelf, quickly face the bookshelf before the auto walking start. The character will move forward, meaning going through the bookshelf

dont know if it is supposed to but when i started i got the gen 1 starters and chose squirtle. i leveled him to level 10 and only had tackle

BRN status condition doesn't seem to do anything. Foe's HP does not decrease. Not certain if it increases chances of being caught, though.

I don't know if this is a bug, but i've found whenever I download an update, the Pokemon3D interface says it's not responding and has crashed. Any ideas why?

You probably know a lot of these, but since they aren't on the list:

1. Because you don't teleport back to a PokeCenter after all your pokemon faint, you can still get into a battle with your fainted pokemon. You can still get an attack in before losing when the opposing pokemon uses any move at all.

2. User PC doesn't work, it just closes the PC.

3. Pressing 'K' as a battle is loading causes the game to freeze.
3b. Pressing 'K' during a battle immediately exits the battle. These 2 only work with the 'K' button, no others I've tried.

4. At the buildings you can't enter in Violet City, if you press 'spacebar' at the door then you can occupy the square the door is in but not enter. You can still turn around and exit.

5. Can't enter Ruins of Alph from north entrance.
5b. Entering Ruins of Alph from the east entrance takes you to Violet City's east entrance.

6. No Sudowoodo blocking the split path at Route 35.
6b. Can't access Route 35, the National Park, or Route 37 from this split.

7. PokeCenter outside of Union Cave takes you back to Cherrygrove PokeCenter.

8. PokeMart at Azalea Town takes you back to Cherrygrove PokeCenter.
8b. PokeCenter at Azalea Town takes you back to Cherrygrove PokeCenter.
8c. Gym at Azalea Town takes you back to Professor Elm's Lab
8d. Using the west exit of Azalea Town (to Ilex Forest) takes you to the east entrance of Violet City

Okay got the game to work and is amazing. Just a small glitch that I've found (no big deal) when you pick an apricot the "you" is spelled "yo"

Great mod i really like the idea however the bugs make it almost unplayable in its current state
The problems I have found so fair are
- I can only enter poke-marts, elms house and poke-centers, i can't enter any houses
- When I leave the poke-center in Violet City I get teleported to Cherrygrove City
- Despite being level 7 my Bulbasur hasn't learnt leech seed yet
thanks for making the mod i feel like it's going to be wicked awesome once the bugs are fixed

Quite a major issue that I'm experiencing is that each time I open up the launcher to play the game, it requests me to update it once again, meaning another folder of the game is created within the already existing folder of Pokémon which contains the updated version of the game. A bit fiddly, to say the least.

It only updates the game again if it cannot find the id.dat in the folder. It creates this file after a successful update.

This is kind of silly, but when I first started the game I kept trying to select "continue". (Of course I just had to click new game first, facepalm)

I think it would be a good idea to grey it out if no save is detected :). I felt dumb.

Will post whatever I find as I roll through the game!
