I am a musician, I can make orchestral music! Thread - Pokémon3D

So i sent nilllzz a pm about this, that was before i read that he wasn't checking his inbox anymore lol! This is the only way i could think of contacting him. Anyway, i make orchestral versions of game songs as a hobby, whilst studying music. Being that i'm a massive fan of gold/silver and pokemon in general, i would be willing to make music for Pokemon 3d. Although im not trying to advertise or anything, i'll show you an example of a song i did from gold/silver:

Once again i'm not going to be linking anyone to any of my personal details here. and its not my intention to sell anything. I really just want to offer a helping hand, in the only way i can. That is, of course, if this is something that nilllzz is interested in... or anyone else for that matter. It's something i would be quite happy to work on.

I think you should work on some battle music and present it to nilllzz

This would be seriously awesome.

Also, as a note, there's a guy working on reorchestrating the pokemon music, and he has all of the kanto music thus far.

The sound is truly awesome, maybe I can make some kind of "music update package" that is an additional download so that people can replace the music if they want to.

well that sounds fine. I think, first up, its reasonable to produce a couple songs and gauge the reaction. It may be the case that no one wants to hear it. Or not.

So i can work on probably the home town theme and battle theme, and see how that goes down.

While the original 8-bit music gets me all high on nostalgia, an overhaul would be amazing. I'm a realism nerd, so not hearing robotic sounds always trumps nostalgia in my book. I understand why nilllzz is designing it the way he is, and it's amazing as is, but I just prefer more realistic sounds and graphics.

Ok, so i arranged this version of the new bark theme today:

I actually have no idea whats happening here. Whether people want the music in the game or not, or whether nilllzz is willing, or even wants to put it in! Its all his choice. The newbark theme i've done just to gauge what people would think of something like this. You never know, i might just be engaging in a futile task. the whole thing might just get thrown out. So it's good to know prior to doing anything.

The issue i have with producing a separate pack from the game itself, is that it has already been done before. And in the case of pokemon 3d i would essentially be making music that only affects the experience of the few who would know about the music pack. I would be incredibly happy arranging and producing the music for the game itself. That way i wouldn't be working on my own projects (of which i have many) but instead working for a community. That i can do.

So there's a couple things i would have to clarify first, but all shall be answered in due time!

An in-game menu which allows to switch b/w original music and orchestra would be damn nice.

I listened to this guy's video earlier today. I 110% support this guy to have this music over the 8 bit music added in. It would defiantly add more depth to the game.

When's he going to post more YouTube videos on this? I'd be interested how he does more intense scores of music like the gyms, pokemon battles, ect.

He's waiting to see the response from the community... and he has to make them.

Just to be clear guys! I am awaiting a response from nilllzz. I'm willing to produce music for the game itself, but not as an optional update pack. that kind of leaves me with a lot of work to do only for it to be optional to the few people who know about the music. It puts me in a tough spot.

The above youtube videos i only spent a day on, and to be honest, they were some of the easiest from the game. Creating intense scores like battle music will take far more time, planning, transcribing and arranging. Its not really something where i push a few buttons and the music is there. its very possible they could take well over a month to complete. Or at least a couple weeks. Which is why im not keen on it to be optional, as it is a lot of work on my behalf. Not to sound harsh or anything.

whether or not nilllzz wants that in his game, has yet to be answered. But I don't want to force a yes or no out of him, he probably has too much on his plate to think about right now.

I honestly think you'd have most people using your music even if it is just a plugin. The response to your post has been entirely positive.

I agree this would be the best option.
I really like what you have done but I want the original music for nostalgia purposes.

This is amazing music. I would love this in the game, but like Haddez said, i would love to be able to jam out to both depending on my mood. Keep up the awesome work though, you are phenomenal.

<3 thanks guys. Nilllzz contacted me about what these would be for. And so far I've agreed to continue producing music. The ones above i didn't spend more than a day on. i would like to expand the amount of time i spend on each song and really try to capture something that would do the game justice.

so stay tuned. I may or may not be posting the songs as they get completed. or i wait until they're all finished before they get released. I'll see.
