so its wednesday and i was gong to end the logo entries today but no one has sent me anything, maybe as it was a short deadline or as the project is nit that popular....
so i will extend the deadline for a longer time but i will try and make one as well... also i will try and make the second concept character as the first version got corrupted when only half done and after i finished it i didn't like it so will design a new one...
also i am unsure if i want to make the full game with having kanto and johto included or maybe have them as additional content? as i do want the main game to focus on sevii islands... also with the plot i did say non native creatures or something like that by i meant pokemon unlike the pokemon from gen 1 and 2. so pokemon from gen 3 onwards as well as new pokemon megas and maybe evolutions but they may looks out of place. alos i was thinking about variations and something to do with shinies...
I'm glad this game is getting another shot, personally I think that your should follow the games by doing one region at a time, and only after the player finishes all regions do the pokemon cross over. you'll have to have that as an advanced player server that can only be accessed by players who have reached a certain goal. Same thing with mega, dont bring it in until a player has reached the region that introduced them. I know you want to focus on sevii islands but have each different regions to be accessed by a ferry of some kind. make them smaller then the sevii island.
your first idea about starting from one region then the next then the third and i fully support this idea. the regions after the first will be most likely addons so the data will most likely be easily carried on and with the advance player server i will make one and that will be something i do later on...
On my opinion, since u said u r no good coder and so active, I think u should just model whatever that come to ur mind or just do the level design.
You should worry about the basics of your game for now. Like I said before. Just set up the basics first. Don't worry about storylines and plot right now. Unless it plays the part of limiting what pokemon actually show up in your game. To show your devotion you need to begin working out these basics. I've listed these things on the main page.
This is the the basics Quote:
"Anyway, you will need at least a basic start. So a game with a play field, character, and a few pokemon with a simple AI should do. Try at least two pokemon for now. This can help boost your popularity to get more people on your team. Coding and scripting is hard but you just have to work out the basic. Unless you got a coder or scripter helping already."
This alone will determine if you will get help. Some people are still sore after Pokegen's development halted. Since then, there has been many pokemon projects that started and fell with very talented people. I've worked with some of these people in a couple of the pokemon projects. These talented and devoted people lose hope in these projects when they see a repeated failure.
thanks for your help and i will follow this, as soon as i can begin the basics and it will be my full devotion as soon as i can begin it as well... getting some screenshots as well as teasers will allow you to see that i am actually doing something... thank you again Machete, you seem to be trying to help me succeed in a game and that is very positive to hear ^_^
