The fight for survival is on! OverDose is a class, team & objective based multiplayer game set on a post-apocalyptic Earth. With gameplay in the tradition of classic games such as Return to Castle Wolfenstein and Enemy Territory, melded with up to date gameplay mechanics and movement, OverDose is a unique blend of online action, team play and of course, lots of gore. Using id tech 2 as a base, OverDose features updated engine features like full real time lighting and shadow mapping, physically based rendering, particle and physics simulations and more. Plus, in classic id Software tradition, our engine and game are fully moddable and scriptable, meaning even amateur mod makers can bring their own creations to life with ease. This isn't war... It's an all out apocalypse!

Looks a bit too sturdy, if you see what I mean. The other two were clearly frankenstein firearms of duct tape and glue, whereas save for a bit of stray wire, this looks like it rolled off a factory production line.

This concept art of the gun model looks amazing and really is unique to the game. Many shooters, even the one I am currently working on (I'll admit) use the same modern gun models we've all seen before. Its nice to see something different for a change and I like all the details. I think its cool that it looks like it rolled off a factory production line; no offense gazornonplat. Thats what makes it unique and separates itself from other shooters.

No offence taken, and no need to even say so unless your intention was to offend me, because if it wasn't then it's my job not to be offended, not yours to try and prevent it.

My initial reaction to this was that it's a little too Borderlands-ish, in that, yes it's not strictly a modern era polished and pristine firearm, but it still looks pretty purpose built. Gavavva cleared things up a few comments down though, since as it turns out there is a very specific reason for the visual design.

It's quite high tech, it's a rail gun type weapon. It's still very rough in design, I'm sure that will come over more in the texture!

I can understand the concern for it looking more advanced than you would expect the general look of the marauder inventory to consist of, but theres a reason for that if you read Josephs artwork. The weapon is, really, a railgun, thats been salvaged and retro-fitted. Its supposed to look like a really high tech weapon thats just been tinkered with, but was still in R&D.

Its the ying to the humans sniper rifle yang.

Oh okay, that makes sense actually, allow me to withdraw my previous complaint/concern.

I thought it was going to be more of a low-fi bolt-action sniper type do, but consider me corrected.

Keep up the awesome work. :)
