Modern Existence Windows game

It was a modern day just like any other... Scientists have just discovered a breakthrough that merged psychology with anatomy. But there is a shocking revelation. All minds and thoughts are connected to a central existence which has an unknown location. Every day, when people go to sleep and at random points through out the day, the brain acting like a computer has to be updated. This process of updating is taken from the central existence. All memories, thoughts, and emotions are held here. With this discovery however, scientists have found a major conflict, but by now it is already to late for such simple solutions. The earth has more and more people being born every day, and the central existance does not purge pre-existing data because to do so would erase the past... Because the central being does not have an infinite amount of storage, people have been finding that people with similar traits are not being "updated" so to speak. Tt started out small... beings very similar (i.e. Identical Twins) not being updated... but as time progressed and research formed breakthroughs... Discovery soon took place and it didn't stop there... In this modern existence it is found that people even sharing minor traits can be turned to the other side... walking... living... breathing... beings. But not quite alive anymore but rather shells of their former existance surviving soley on instinct and no longer on reason or rationality the latest case that sent people into a panic was the "Subsistance" incident, a popular FPS game where all the players (upon not being updated) went on rampages and had to be taken down. this is... the Modern Existence that you see before you today.
