Yes it does. Mostly because the many bodies of water and the vines coming of the trees.
yeah, i meant that the grass could be more brownish, and that the sand could be replaced by dirt block or mud block ;)
you need to see more swamps man.
I myself have been to forests and allot of the fishing ponds in them soon either dry out or the pond gets polluted,thus looking more like a swamp.What i have to say about swamps is that frogs,lillipads,dirty water and mud are a definet part of one swamp.....

Idk about swamps in US though but those we have in Europe are slightly brownish with very dark water...
Looks just like 1.7 generation with added vines. Somehow I really doubt nice swamps will ever be implemented by Notch.. Shame, I really want to see something similar to what I live in.
Mud would be cool, kinda slow you down like the main ground in the Nether. Since its only around swamps it would be no big deal, right?
Well i think Notch should add one more Water or change the color to something like that:

I hope people know, swamps can look clean. They don't all look dirty and muddy. Some do and sometimes those go through a stage were they can get really clean looking. But yes he needs to make it look less dry and maybe make it grow a tree in the water? But then again... Some swamps are dry.
it's more stereotypical for swamps to be more dirty, otherwise it just looks like any other biome :\

Hm, I'd say the grass should be a bit more brownish/gloopy to resemble a swamp. The vines coming down off the trees are spot on though.
I say that it would need allot more grass on it,the vines are on spot (just as kegeree said).Maybe make it so that grass near water stays dirt.
To people saying swamp grass should be browner, you've obviously never been to a swamp.
Or it could be that I've played too many fantasy games that make swamps a browny colour..--
Wait, it's always been greenish/dark green... Whatever the case maybe the water could use a bit of a change in the biome?
Woah. Notch has now blown my mind to the max.
i make me think of a swamp, it would if it had halfblock water or quarterblock water covering the ground like an actual swamp.
this place needs "dirt-water-moss" block! that way you can get stuck in the swamp!
Would be nice if the place was tinted green.
I feel like the final swamp will have a different color grass and maybe a new block or two, including a new type of liquid. :3 at least that's my dream

Oh god finally! I'm always having trouble finding lakes.
A ceiling made of trees, special trees which does not let all light get through, hidden mobs in water/high grass, you'll have a swamp.

Who says the actual swamp is in the foreground? That's definitely the sort of thing Mojang and the gang have done in previous posts.

the trees need to be more kinda...i dunno swarmy and everywhere??...like everything needs to be more boggy, wet and overgrown...maybe im wrong :)

At least, that's the way they are in Canada. I think that with more grass, the addition of lilypads, and maybe a higher concentration of trees, it should get there.
But making the texture more brown? Maybe you're all just colour blind or something.
It needs some water lilies and reeds and that kinda stuff.
Its look cool but not much like a swamp :)

hahah i live in what used to be a swamp (Busselton Western Australia ) this looks more like a secret garden anyhow i'm sure this will be fixed ... or renamed
