EUROPE DOG THINGY THING
In other words that map thingy looks really damn cool, but what about scrolling, undergrounds, and largeness?

Map markers?
Map markers would be nice!
UNDERGROUNDS-The map records the blocks closest to the top of the world, so if you were in a cave, it would not record the insides of the cave, but rather, whatever was making up the very top of the cave, where it meets air with nothing above that. Confusing... But basicly it won't record what u want inside of caves.
SCROLLING & LARGENESS- Notch wanted it to look and function more like a real map. This means no scrolling and no zooming without some sort of hack. As far as your locations go, why would a real map just tell you where you were? It's a piece of paper, not a GPS. Maybe later on, like say version 5.09 or somethin ^.-
MARKERS- Yes, they'd be nice. Perhaps Notch could add this later so people don't attack him ^w^
The map concept is pretty intresting..I can't wait to craft it in my new world..Already found 15 diamonds!
And they always said we couldn't do anything without thumbs, Minecraft makes this sentence so wrong.

One can probably build an easily recognizable landmark for such purposes.
what happens when we explored too much the world that the drawn gets off the border ?
