They sure look different from the picture Notch posted originally...
yeah. I have debated over if it were a fake. but the zombie sorta made me think it wasn't. there is no mod where arrows stick to mobs.
perhaps the eyes are alertness levels. purple for roaming, red for chasing, green for frozen while the player looks at them. would make sense, wouldn't it?
this is all speculation, though.

Kizzy,i think notch scripted the endermen so that they only shift dirt and smooth stone..I've noticed that in all endermen pics (2 lol) they hold dirt which mean they probably only destroy natural things such as wooden logs,smoothstone and dirt...
We have only ever seen them carry dirt and sand, so there is no evidence that they'll remove stone.
I heard somewhere that if you wear a pumpkin they leave you alonge
that pumpin thing would be awesome :D
like i need more reasons from minecraft to be afraid of the dark

Also, look at the wall behind the zombie and skeleton, it's most likely a test or showcase of moss spreading.

I personally like it better if they were solid black instead of textured. I'll probably just edit the texture myself for that.

Are those arrows lodged into that zombie? Perhaps there might also be a new type of damage system with arrows? If so, I wonder if we'll have to headshot zombies... xD

People are speculating that putting the pumpkin on your head makes you invisible to Endermen, but what if it made them uninvisible to you?
Notice the smoke around them, this likely means they just appeared, which may mean when the pumpkin was placed on ones head it granted them the ability to see the strange creatures.
All far fetched but I think it would be a bit scarier that way.

I just had a sudden thought... Since these guys take blocks... They'd end up as annoying as creepers. But instead of blowing your house up they will take parts D:
