Master of Tactics is a 4X Space Turn Based Strategy Game. It has a tactical combat system making the game heavy on strategy with a deep technology tree. It is also light on micro management! Master of Tactics is set in the future, just after the discovery of interstellar space travel and involves a race to explore the galaxy, colonise new worlds, and control the galaxy's strategic resources. Hello, I try to start your game but I get this Error: Error: Could not create the Java Virtual Machine. Every other Java Aplication I have runs perfect. What can I do? Thanks in advance Henning |

Hi, sorry, I should have provide more Information: Version of Java is: 1.7.9_13 its the runntime. I am right now under Windows 7 64 Bit. I run it as user and Administrator and the error happens all the time. Hardware is Java version is 1.7.0_13 litle Thanks in advance. Henning |

I am assuming 'little' in your post is an answer to how much memory - in which case this is the likely cause. However anybody getting this error should consider the following. Master of Tactics uses a product called JSmooth to wrap the Java into an windows executable. It looks like this bit is going wrong for you. 1. Using a 64 bit JRE? - try installing a 32 bit JRE (and using that). 2. Not having enough available memory to create the process. Running as administrator usually fixes this, because user processes can have a maximum memory allowance. Alternatively you could actually not have enough memory. Master of Tactics claims all the memory it thinks it might need at the beginning, so if there is not enough memory it will just not start. Try creating more virtual memory. 3. Bypass JSmooth by downloading the Master of Tactics binaries (called Mac and Linux distributions). Unzip the game into a folder and run using this command "java -Xms128m -Xmx1024m -jar mot.jar" (see run.sh). The numbers are memory sizes you can reduce them but there may be consequences after an hour or so! Please let me know how this went..... Thanks. |
