Lord of the Dark Castle is a casual turn-based retro style roguelike dungeon crawler with elements of strategy. Move/attack in Your turn, and the Monsters move/attack in their turn. Each level is randomized and will introduce new monsters as the Hero reaches deeper down into the dungeon. The game is played in Hardcore Mode, meaning no Save Game - death is permanent!
Description
Try-Before-Buy and verify that it runs fine on your system. Tweak the game speed to your liking in the Settings-menu (animations on/off, speed, etc). Full functionality, but limited to 750 turns / started game. Should be able to reach dungeon level 2, possibly level 3, then restart a new game. Download and try it out! :-)

Recommended memory: 4GB RAM.
Screen resolution: Minimum = 1024x768. Preferred = 1920x1200. (On 800x600 text becomes very hard to read.)
Java Runtime: The game needs Java Runtime (JRE 7 or JRE 8). Download HERE.
(*) Linux users: The executable property must be set on "Lord_of_the_Dark_Castle.jar" file. There is a compatibility issue between Java Sound drivers and Pulse Audio. To run the game, first disable the sound in the "settings.txt" file. Workaround scheduled for Q1-2015.
Installation
Unpack the Game zip-file in any directory of your choice.
Windows: run the file "StartGame.bat" or "Lord_of_the_Dark_Castle.jar".
Mac and Linux: run the file "Lord_of_the_Dark_Castle.jar".
Trial Version requires an internet connection to start the game (only when you start it, and only 1 packet is sent) to verify that you are running on the latest available Trial version.

Uninstall instruction: Simply delete the game folder. (Java Runtime can be uninstalled as any normal program if you no longer need it for other applications.)
