This week our team focused on implementing a novel feature, a ghost system, improving aesthetics, and fixing bugs we discovered during the last playtesting session. We decided to implement a new novel feature because we felt that our game currently doesn't stand out too much from other wall-jumping platformer games. So, our team decided to add a checkpoint system driven by the player, i.e. the player decided when to palace one of their limited number of checkpoints. We also decided to improve some aesthetics because certain game features didn't mesh well with the rest of our game design, the breakable block, goal, and switch specifically. In the future, we plan on implementing a better-looking stamina bar, health bar, and visual effect when the player dies.
