1. Achievements
Do you think the game should have an achievement system?
You could receive achievements after finishing a puzzle of finishing the game, and of course, there could be more difficult achievements to obtain like interacting with all the objects, finishing all conversations and so on.

2. Points
Points can be earned by performing an action in the game. Looking at something or picking something up will get you points. Earning all the points (i.e. looking at all objects, talking to everybody and so on) could mean:

  • a. Getting an achievement.
  • b. To keep the game world real points could be linked to bonus or secondary missions (like someone asks you to search everything at the investigation scene and at the end asks you a few questions. If you answer right you get extra money. In this case points would be an indication of how close you are to finish the bonus missions.
  • c. The points could be experience points and the character could Level Up at a certain number of points. Leveling Up could mean getting new Investigation Tools that would help solving the mystery.

3. Hints
Currently the hints system is works like this:
For each mission (episode of the game) you get paid by the police (or private persons) if you solve the case.
Each time you get stuck you can get help from a friend (for example you can call a friend specialized in breaking codes).
There is a catch however: help is not free so you have to pay persons that help you. This will be deducted from your fee when you finish the game.

We haven't decided yet about the importance of the amount of money you finish the game with.
There are several options:

  • a. It doesn't have a specific function, it's there just so you can see how well you did in the game and you get an achievement for finishing with the entire amount.
  • b. Earning the entire amount could get you a discount for the next episode. (you can always replay the game and finish without using the hints - your puzzles would be different - but now you know the mechanics of each puzzle).
  • c. The money could be used in future episodes to buy different tools that will be necessary to solve the puzzles.

At this point only the Hint System will certainly be added to the game - we are still considering the others.
We would love to hear you opinion on the Achievement, Points and Hint Systems.
