Well I was having a discussion with some friends on whether or not to change the mod from a Source Mod to an Unreal game. I would be using the Unreal Development Kit so it would be its own game. This has advantages and disadvantages. The main advantage is better mapping tools, graphics, particle effects closer to what I need, and all modeling work can still be ported to it instead of Source.
Disadvantages include that I will have to learn a new mapping set, a longer delay in updates and mapping, and a restart of any mapping done. Those who don't like my early WIP mapping work can now sigh in relief as I will decide to wait for maps to be more fully developed.
So let me know if you think this is a bad idea or I will go ahead and do it anyway. As always positions for the team are still available. If you would also like to help out in a lesser sense then read here Moddb.com .
That is all. I would just like to say that more work will be done soon as it is almost summer.
If you need someone to help you out with the materials or making some models or even making some maps, i can help.
I have a lot of experience in Unreal and their developers kit.
Do it... seeing as I don't have halflife, I'd like a standalone game.
get half-life its only $20.00
You don't have have Half-Life 2.... YOU SINNER!!!! haha just kidding,or am I?
I think honestly it's a bad idea. we're following you because your on source and a good idea. Don't change please.
Changing will slow down development. Please don't change
Yeah half of the reason that I'm watching this is because it's on Source. If that changes I really won't want to follow this mod anymore.
Yeah,i dont think u should change, because i dont have any games on unreal engine atm and i have source engine games and if u change it,i wont be able to try it out =P
Unreal Development kit allows you to make your own games so that UT3 is not required.
