A very unique strategy game that is hard to define but is most similar to Tower Defense games. You are in charge of managing a complex ecosystem in order to protect yourself from evil machines come to destroy your forest. Grow stronger creatures and organisms by 'culling' weaker ones in order to fight for your Forest!

Alright, so I wanted to give people a more detailed glimpse of the game system in I'm Gonna Be God of The Forest along a first look at the English names we came up with for some of the creatures.

This is a simple and easy-to-understand chart which can be called up anytime during a mission for reference.
The red and blue dots represent the two kinds of nutrients that are used to evolve new creatures.
Red dots are the result of culling animals and blue dots come from culling plants.

Each organism has a certain behavior pattern including what other kind of animals or plants it will eat and how it attacks enemies. The game is meant to represent a living ecosystem and each organism has a specific role to fill.

So that makes Rex the poster carnivore who will eat all the other animals. The only one he doesn't mess with is Headram!

On the other side you have Orchards and Greenroofs which do not attack but just act as food for other creatures. A Greenroof does have the ability to spawn a rare type of Dot egg however.

I also wanted to talk about the original Japanese naming conventions for the creatures.
One of the lead team members from Shindenken is actually a native of Osaka and for some reason they named every creature after a district inside Osaka.

So Oozy was actually named after an area called 玉造(Tamatsukuri) in the original version.

We decided to go with a more standard naming style for the English localization!
