Taking the role of Henry Edwards, Hyde explores the mind of a business tycoon’s son. Initially Henry is a man who appears to have it all, but as the lines between the past and the present begin to blur, his lifestyle and upbringing begin to be called into question. Hyde’s game-play fits securely into the genre of Interactive Fiction, whilst following a gripping thriller narrative. You need not click on anything in Hyde, nor do you need to remember any complex controls; Just W,A,S & D to move, and move the Mouse to look around.

Post news Report RSS Four weeks on

Well, it's been just under four weeks since we released our little project to the world, and we couldn't be happier.

After the creation of the Let's Play section on our website last week, I think it's fair to say that the view count on those videos ... well ... exploded! After a quick view count from the videos in the Let's Play section, Hyde let's play videos have now accrued a staggering 88927 views!!! So again, I'd like to take this opportunity to thank again, all of the content creators out there who put in the time and effort to make these videos for Hyde, and release them into the world. I can't explain how much it means to us!
I would also like to thank the websites Atomic Gamer, and Softpedia for reaching out to our little game and offering us space on their servers! More importantly however, we thank you for helping to spread the word, and expose your respective user-groups to our project. In the same breath, I'd also like to make mention of this very website, ModDB, for the great service it provides. It's been a massive weight off my shoulders, knowing that people who are interested in our project could gain access to fast and reliable download mirrors from day one. The fact that it also allows us to interface with our players is invaluable to us, so cheers.
Last but certainly not least, I also need to make mention of two small-ish websites. Last week, whilst I was casually checking our website, I noticed a small stream of traffic arriving from a website called Survival Horror Downloads. When I checked out the link, I found that this website, this Spanish website, had found our game, and decided to share it with its fanbase. To say this made our day as developers would be a complete understatement. I didn't think anything as amazing as that would happen again either, boy was I wrong. Today, I happened to stumble across a Czech website called Free Game, whom had not only hosted our game, but also provided their own review. I really can't express how appreciative we are to both of these sites for the exposure, and care they have shown towards our plight. So thank you again.
After just completing a quick count of the downloads across all of our original mirrors, ModDB and all of the websites that have hosted our game in recent weeks, it seems we have just broken 2000 individual downloads of our project! A truly huge number compared to our initial anticipation, and further nailing home the fact that (in our minds), there is at least a market for this genre of game. A genre which we only hope to see continue to grow in the future.
As a final sign of appreciation to the websites that have reached out to us, we have also added a new section to the website called Blog and Media Coverage. Please check it out and send some traffic their way, just as they have for us.
Once again, thanks to everyone who has helped us along the way! To the fans, the players, the bloggers and the vloggers. Thanks for making our game, the success it is today.
-Lachlan (Lead Level Artist), and the rest of the team behind Hyde.
