Hero's Story continues to actively develop over the past months. The result of hard work was the Fallen Knight update, which I will tell you about today!
Update is dedicated to a new boss who has taken place of Beholder in the dungeon. The idea to recreate a level from old versions of the game came to me a few months ago. Knight's Dungeon has the same structure, traps and enemies as the original version, but in new update there are more treasures here and the boss battle hall itself has become larger and brighter.
But that is not all. The "Fallen Knight" update also introduced a system of in-game cutscenes into the game, which can be played either automatically (during the plot) or when certain conditions are met. Some of the cutscenes show the way further, some - introduce a new enemy or boss, and some simply add a little entertainment to the game. I plan to add even more in-game cutscenes to the full version of the game!
Work is also ongoing to optimize and stabilize the game. For a long time, I could not find the reason for the save system not working correctly, which is why enemies and objects appeared again when the level was reloaded. This update has finally fixed this issue! In this version, restrictions on the gold and glory points that players can accumulate have been removed. Also, many new items were added, many minor bugs were fixed, and the ability to change FOV in game settings was added.
I could list all the changes for a long time, but for that there are changelogs on Steam. Let me just say that the next update for the game will be released next year. And the release of the full version is planned for the 2nd quarter of 2024! It will feature tutorial, a complete storyline and full controller support.
