Made with love, lots of pizza, and strawberry ice cream, Freedom is a minimalist platformer set in a colorful world consumed by a struggle between two factions. Follow the journey of a child determined to fix the rift and bring peace to the land. With features like gravity changes, a cast of cats, dogs, and dinosaurs, a subtle yet tragic story, spikes, lasers, rockets, chase scenes, and a solid 60 frames per second, you'll be running and jumping in no time! Spice up your gameplay with controller support and tons of items to collect and customize. The minimalist art style puts the focus on gameplay. Try the game and see for yourself, it's free!
History
I had an idea that would play off of "boredom" and hopefully provide a fulfilling experience for players. I chose GameMaker for its ease of use, flexibility, and speed when creating my game, especially as programming in other engines would have been much slower to achieve a finished product. The cameras and layers provided have allowed me to express my creativity in so many ways, and I am thankful to have used this engine for this project. GameMaker's strength is its ability to create polished and professional-looking games quickly, and I enjoyed using all the different features such as filters and sequences in my project! Freedom is a minimalist platformer set in a colorful world consumed by a struggle between two factions. The game aims to be almost frustrating to play, freeing players from their boredom and immersing them in a dynamic and exciting gameplay experience.
