Description

Eternal Warfare is a turn-based strategy and war game where you harvest resources, build an army, and then destroy your opponents! Starting with a single building, construct production facilities, advance your tech level, and then fight through land, sea and air, until you emerge victorious!

History

Back on my teenage days I absolutely loved playing Advance Wars, and wanted to create a similar game in my own vision, making it better and more balanced.

I eventually started the project, but I wasn't experienced enough to create a complex game from start to finish, and had to drop the idea for time being.

Then in late 2016 I remembered about this old dream and decided to give it a new try. Since I had already released a few small games at the time I felt confident enough to take my first big project.

At first it was going to have isometric graphics, but it made the code significantly more complex, and I decided to switch to top down view until I had the essential game mechanics functional (in the end I never switched it back).

In a few days I got my first working prototype, with placeholder graphics and basic combat working, and a little after that, basic base construction and unit production.

Besides Advance Wars, I'm also a big fan of Command & Conquer series, especially the older games, and it heavily influenced the path the game was taking. Over the time some mechanics had to be changed due balance concerns.

And the game grew through the course of the years, always polishing the minor details as I acquired more experience with game development, until I decided that the time for an official launch was coming. I forced myself into self-discipline to finish the campaign missions and fix all the major bugs and balance issues, until it finally launched on 2021.

But the development didn't end. I'm happy to keep working on it and make it a better game after every update.
