Emoticon is a 3D sidescrolling platforming game in which the player has 3 abilities. These 3 emotion abilities replace the standard punch, kick and destroy mechanics with something new and fresh. Joy is used to platform and jump, Anger is used to as the primary combat maneuver and Sad is the ability a player will use to reveal new areas and wash away the world. A unique twist is each one of these attack/abilities has an impact on the environment in real time, the world changes as they go further into one emotional state.
In this video we demonstrate the 3 main emotional abilities that are innate to our main heroine Airdrie. The Sad ability summons a rain cloud to wash away certain parts of the world with monsoon rain and lightening. Anger allows the player to rip up the ground and throw it at objects and Joy allows the player to jump higher and wall jump. This level is the tutorial and is a work in progress.
