There are two types of combat; Story battles and Multiplayer battles. Story battles are integrated within the story's progression. These will be battles you encounter by participating in the story based tasks. Multiplayer battles allow you to challenge other Eminence players. They can be initiated either via direct interaction with that player in the virtual world or through a request.
Below is a demonstration of a typical multiplayer battle.
