You are a God! You are master and ruler of a loyal nation. You have unimaginable powers at your disposal. You have claimed this world as yours. But there are others who stand in your way. You must defeat and destroy these pretenders. Only then can you ascend to godhood and become the new Pantokrator. When you start the game you decide what kind of god you are and how your DOMINION affects your lands and followers. It is an expression of your divine might and the faith of your followers. If your dominion dies, so do you. Your dominion also inspires your sacred warriors and gives them powers derived from your dominion. In order to win and become the one true god you have to defeat your enemies one of three different ways: conquer their lands, extinguish their dominion or claim the Thrones of Ascension. Release version and manual is available now. Manual can be downloaded from Illwinter's web page.

Do you want Gath to fight Ur? Now you can. Inspired by Gandalf's Single-Age mod for Dom3, the following mod puts all the nations of Dominions4 in a single age (specifically EA).

Link: Dropbox.com

Generating a mod for changing eras is trivial, but the tough bit is making sure that nation descriptions for the new eras are correct. My methodology for creating this mod was to strip strings out of the Dominions4.exe, using some rough heuristics to guess which nations which strings went with, and output a .dm file as output, then manually fix any glaring errors. However, there may still be some errors such as nations having summaries where their description should be, or having the wrong nation's description, and if so please let me know and I will correct them for a future version.

Thank you. I greatly appreciate that.

All Atlantieses and all R'leyh have the same short description (the one from Late Age).

And a question: Would it be possible to use Single Age + Mod Nations?
Tried it now with Themiskyra but the two or one doesnt show up. I think if I changed the Mod-Nations manually to early age they would show up, right?

Edit: Pangea, Ulm, T'ien Chi and Arco too.
Maybe all nations which share their name in all ages?

Midgard and Utgard: no description

Changing the age of a mod nation manually should work. The mega mod just changes all the #era numbers to 1 for each nation. So MA and LA Themiskyra should work fine if you also set their #era numbers to 1.

A note on usability: right now you manually input all the text from the summaries of the nations, which I think is how it has to work because changing the eras breaks the description texts. But you also left the names as-is. That's going to be needlessly confusing. The old mega-age mod renamed each nation to their eras, so it wasn't just "Ermor" it was "EA Ermor" or "MA Ermor." It's a subtle thing, but it really helps a lot.

Gandalf,

No problem. :) Your happiness here just made my day.

Korwin/Frank,

Thanks, both those turned out to be the same issue--when two nations have the same name they share the same brief description automatically. Changing to EA/MA/LA fixed it.

I fixed Utgard/Midgard too.

I've uploaded the new mod to Dropbox; the link remains the same.

problem with single age .. that once you get a map for them all to fit it will lag like hell later on . turns taking ages.

Yeah but those long lag games can come in handy for keeping me out of trouble. It makes me remember to check on the kid, do some chores, get up and walk, remember to eat, to shit, and to notice that it got dark outside so maybe I should go to bed. :)

I do cheat it abit though since I have a separate server to run my games on which speeds it up some.

Was it intentional that all nations have the same Forts in Single-Age?
Palisade (20 Admin and 50 Defense) and Fortress (25 Admin and 250 Defense)

Those might be the defaults for Early Age that we got from renaming the nations :(
It could probably be fixed but what a hassle it would be to manually put them all back with no changes

Hey I discovered while I was setting up my massive game, that nations like Ermor, and Ulm, are named the same thing and cant share the map with each other.

The simple fix is to go in and rename Ermor, Pan, Ulm, etc as "EA Ermor", "EA Ulm" etc.

Same was true in dom3.

Krafty, that's odd, I thought I'd fixed that weeks ago when Frank and Corwin pointed it out. Is it still happening for you after a re-download?

Korwin, it was not intentional to make all forts the same. I didn't consider that fort eras might get reset by switching ages. I'll see if I can make an alternate version that preserves forts.

It looks as if Middle Age allows the most styles to overlap

So, it's pretty essential that all cross-era nations have unique standards, particularly if you end up playing in a Timewarp game. I think that the new standards used in Dom4 are all unique across eras, but it would be good to doublecheck.

Is this mod functionally complete?
