Think i found the reason, I have my ports forwarded but my coop partner does not. so if he connects to me he can join the game/see me, but i am unable to connect to him at all if he hosts. Original post in quotes "Not sure if it's lag or not, but in a coop game I can not see the other players, it's just like being in two seperate games as we can't see interact with each other unless it's in chat.
