If you ever played paper RPG Death Maze, Citadel of Blood or Labirynt Ĺmierci then you already know this game. DG is a tribute to this RPG (three names but game the same). In Dark Gates you lead your team of 6 heroes into dungeon where they will fight their way through in order to destroy Dark Gates and evil mage who is the master of the dungeon. Main feature of the game is dungeon itself. This is no predefined layout and every time you play, map is always different. Dungeon creates itself as you play. In your quest you will find monsters, magical items, trap, puzzles and treasures. Glory awaits one who destroys Dark Gates and evil mage. Game is in alpha stage, lot's of stuff missing or not working as intended.

I purchased the game - Dark Gates - through Desura but when I attempt to download and install it each time (out of six of so attempts at installing) the download stops a bit short of completing and then there's an error message, a few seconds after the download siezes up/goes crazy/goes to sleep/gets stuck in an infinite loop or whatever,...an error message saying the download didn't complete successfully and giving the option to attempt the download again. After not being able to download and install the complete (paid for) game (see download problem above), I was able to download and install the demo of the game on the first attempt and it seemed to work fine for the few minutes I played it. I then attempted to "upgrade" my install to the full version, but again was unable to complete the full game download before the download stopped and the same error message(s) appear(s). I'm running 64-bit Win 7 Pro and have plenty of file space on my game partition. Any suggestions about what might help me complete the download of Dark Gates? |
