You’ll be able to play as one of the four people that got trapped inside this haunted hotel. As a survivor your main objective will be finding your way out, as well as helping your fellows get out too. You’ll often find yourself on the edge, hearing and seeing ghostly things, trying to find keys and items to help in your escape. And sometimes you’ll find yourself running desperately from a monster, who’s there only to hunt down and kill you and your friends. You’ll also be able to play as the monster. You’ll assume an ethereal form, which you’ll use to haunt the survivors, triggering eerie noises and events. You’ll also assume a physical form, which will allow you to hunt and kill the survivors trapped in the hotel. It’ll be your killing spree. Minimum Requirements: - Processor: 2.0+ GHz (dual core recommended); - Memory: 2 GB RAM; - Graphics: ATI Radeon HD 2000+, nVidia GeForce FX 6 series

Nevermind, everything should be gold now!

Troubleshoot Guide (after version 0.26f):

I can't join a server; Some servers shows no ping (in the Join Screen); Enter a server and goes to an empty lobby:
- Either you or the person hosting the game haven't allowed Damned to pass through Windows firewall;
- The person hosting needs to port forward the UDP ports 55888 to 55920;

I closed the game and now it says I'm connected elsewhere:
- We are working to avoid this. Probably in the next update this won't happen anymore. But it happens for a reason, when you force-close the application or when it crashes, it doesn't send a "disconnect" packet to the server, and your account gets stuck (logged). You then have to wait until we restart the server, since we can do this fast and without interrupting the games that are already on, we plan on restarting the server often to help people stuck with this problem.

We already solved this issue.

Suddenly I can't pick up keys or move doors and nobody moves:
- This can happen when the host disconnects, and another player becomes the new host.

Things to remember:
- Allow the game to pass through Windows firewall;
- Don't join a game if the server shows no ping in the Join Screen;
- Some people may need to port forward the UDP ports 55888 to 55920;

Why not just tell us the ports to forward

Jul 13 2013 Anchor

Because we don't use a fixed port, we use hole punching, to allow transferring the host in the middle of a match. So unfortunately, you can't port forward it. At least the way it is implemented now.

I can't see any servers on the join list, any ideas? Nevermind, I thought there was a problem, but it's just that no one was playing, haha my bad.

Try following this tutorial and see if it works:

I don't think it's possible for 2+ people on the same router to host a game and play on each other's server...

Two or more people on the same router should be able to play on each other's server with no problems. Did you port forwarded all the ports used by the game (UDP ports from 55888 to 55920)?

Regards.

Well that's the problem, if I try to forward UDP 55888-55920 on the router for my fiancee's pc, my router won't allow me to forward UDP 55888-55920 on my own pc.

We can both connect to other people's servers, but if we host, our servers are always blank when we try to join, not allowing us to pick a character.

We both allowed Damned on our firewalls.

Think DMZ hosting would do anything useful?

Jul 26 2013 Anchor

Im on a LAN with 5 people in total, and we are playing on a open router so no port-forwarding needed. When we try to join our server it only show X X X X X on the left corner of the screen.... -_-

Jul 26 2013 Anchor

Everything should work now... and you guys can undo the port forwards, we won't use them no more.

Jul 27 2013 Anchor

Well I wouldn't say that... now if we try to join each other's games, it goes back to lobby and the connect button greys out and we have to restart...

Jul 27 2013 Anchor

It keeps telling me my account is being used in another location. I know it's not another person because this has happened tons of times and it lasts for about five minutes. I think it's not properly logging me out when I exit the game.

Jul 28 2013 Anchor

Doesent work for me neither! i've tried to port forward on my firewall on both Desura and Damned and then did the same on my router.. still nothing!

I cant connect to any game, my connect button just turns grey and none of my friends can join either

Jul 30 2013 Anchor

Hi yeah its the same for me and my friends the connect button turns grey but does nothing

Jul 30 2013 Anchor

Same as the above here

Jul 30 2013 Anchor

We'll upload an update today, hopefully it'll solve the issues with hosting...

:D

Jul 30 2013 Anchor

will this update fix the host dieing bug aswell ?

Jul 30 2013 Anchor

Yes, it will probably solve this issue too.

Jul 31 2013 Anchor

I had some connection issues with v 0.33,but I managed to play a couple times
I updated it to 0.34 and now every time I enter a lobby,I can neither see other people nor me in it
None of 'em show ping though,but there are no lobbies that do
I'll try to wait for a lobby that shows ping
As for now I just wanted to report this,just so you know

Jul 31 2013 Anchor

Yeah all the servers have no ping for me and if I host my friend can't connect

Remeber to allow the game to pass through Windows firewall.

Aug 1 2013 Anchor

The host die bug is still there, hope you dont release your suprise update without a fix to this since it is destroying the experience:/
Great game but since the host die bug appeared it has been a shitty experience gaming:(

EDIT: There is a way around it tho, just have to make sure the host plays monster and it should be fine :)

Since last update (scott) i cant use my default window resolution (its a 27" widescreen monitor, i think it is atleast) without the mouse sensitivity being bugged.. only way to play now is if i play at 1024*768 but then it doesnt fit my screen

Awesome game, but I haven't actually played yet. I am curious, though. The server list is empty. Is that just my computer or is there actually no one playing?

Aug 29 2013 Anchor

Depends the time, we have a lot of people playing.
