My boyfriend bought this game for himself and I to play. Mine works perfectly. His on the other hand does not even show the main title screen. We have tried changing the screen resolution, verifying the files, re installing Desura and re stalling Damned. We also looked at other people's problems and it seems some people the same issue and we have tried everything in the forums. (except downloading the stand alone version because we don't know what that is)
is there anything we can do to fix it?

You could check your drivers if it's up-to date
and becca, have your boyfriend installed "pyhton 2.7"? (should automatically download python when buying the game.)

@RandomExpletive:

  • Open the file "setup.cfg" under "C:/ProgramData/Damned/Config" with notepad and change the resolution there to one matching your screen.

Has he tried playing it in windowed mode?

@KnightVultor
how do we do that? We looked up a tutorial by going through the properties and editing the Target field but we couldnt edit it

Oh...yeah I forgot he can't get to the options if he can't see the menu. You can still do it by finding the "Damned Alpha" folder, then go into "DamnedData" and opening setup.cfg folder with notepad.

When the window is open look for "Full Screen" with an equal sign after it. Put "No" right after the = with no spaces. So it should look like this:

Full Screen=No

Atleast, that works for me. I don't know if it will work for you as well.

@KnightValor
It made it full screen but it still crashed. :c But thank you anyways for trying to help

So it opens up and then crashes? I had this problem twice. The first time, I restarted my computer and reinstalled it and that worked. The second time I had to make it windowed and the resolution be 800 x 600. You can try those two, other than that I have no idea. You can check the troubleshoot guide and if it still doesn't work I think you're suppose to send a PM to 9heads.

yeah We tried it but it didn't work. We sent an email so hopefully they respond.
