Creations is a 2D multi-player build-and-destroy game created with RMXP. Players are able to build structures while interacting with each other. Players are also able to create kingdoms in order to claim a map. Kingdoms can be used in many ways, and it's up to the players whether they will create a simple trade route, or make an empire and claim the world. If 2 kingdoms want the same land, they can challenge each other to a battle for the land. The entire world is in the hands of the players. Peaceful or violent, mining or farming, good or evil, the choice is yours.

So far I have made a pretty good amount of progress with Creations. Building and destroying works, maps are global, and multiplayer in general is working pretty well so far. Overall, I am very happy with the progress I’ve made up to this point. However, things could be better.

So far I have made a pretty good amount of progress with Creations. Building and destroying works, maps are global, and multiplayer in general is working pretty well so far. Overall, I am very happy with the progress I’ve made up to this point.

However, things could be better. At this point, graphics are overall lacking. I have been using the default RMXP tiles for convenience while I focused on developing the systems. I have finally added in roofing for stone walls which makes them look much better and allows structures to look like actual houses rather than a bunch of stones in a square. I am hoping that soon I will be able to improve the graphics to make them look better.

Another point that the game is lacking in currently is gameplay. There is no battle system and there most likely will not be one for a while. Up to this point, the items in the game have only been used for testing and as a result of this, there is no way to get items besides starting out with them. In the future, I plan on adding new ways to get resources and vastly improve the gameplay.

The kingdom system so far is very basic. Players can create kingdoms, invite others to their kingdom, see the members of their kingdom, claim land, and name a map. Claiming maps and naming maps are used for kingdoms to gain land. First a kingdom must claim an unowned map. After a map is claimed, the kingdom that owns it is the only one that can use the land. Naming maps allow for kingdom members and visitors to get a better idea of what the map is. Kingdoms can name maps anything they want, but example would be town, village, outpost, capital, trade route, mine, etc. Map names are used strictly for additional info on the map and play no role in how the map is actually used. My next plan for kingdoms is challenges. With a simple command, kingdoms can challenge each other for land. As long as both kingdoms accept the challenge, a challenge commences for a specified amount of time. During the challenge, kingdoms can claim land from each other when the “ownership percentage” of a map is at 0. More details about challenges will appear in future news posts.

So where do things stand now? I am hoping to be able to get some people to help test the systems currently implemented since they will be crucial for the overall game. If you are interested in testing, please let me know. I am currently working on some new menus for the game to aid in building. Check out the screenshots and video to see how things look so far.
