Crash Bandicoot Returns is a sequel to the trilogy developed by the studio Naughty Dog. The project will be developed with the Unreal Engine 4 and will be offered in demo in 2017. For the official release, no date is yet planned.
Little overview of the project with somes animations based on the skeleton of Crysis.
I want new crash bandicoot!!!
You guys going to keep the original soundtrack? Or do remakes of old stuff? Or make totally new stuff? Anyway, I'm sure it'd turn out pretty darn cool.
I try to compose my own ost, but it's difficult :/
nicely done! :D, but try to make is back more uprigte.. it looks like he is looking down into the ground.. but else.. nice work! :D
Yes I know lol. Body movements are not those of Crash, but those of Nomad, the hero of the game Crysis. Finally, if you prefer, the movements of the original game. But soon, I hope a suitable skeleton :)
He.... Looks like a retard
heh
Lol, Crash he's retard XD
Aside from how he looks like he's blowing himself when he's moving, it's looking good so far. Smooth animations. The music is actually fitting too for something you made on your own. It jumps around a lot, but you've got just about all the sounds and vibes in there Crash games usually have in their background songs.
I like how his face changes when he's falling. You should make his face change when he is hit, dies, etc. so the character doesn't look like a lifeless doll moving around. :]
As the article is not online yet, you can not know that current events are not at all definitive. These are the basic animation of the game Crysis. So, the animations of the skeleton are not suitable.
Oh thank god.
He needs to be a little less leaned over when running and his face needs to be more smaller, unless you're planning to animate it into a better state. But hey, everything looks great so far!
Thank you very much ;)
It´s possible to meka him look for what is on it´s front, and not on the ground?
That is the result of Crash being animated like the regular Crysis human. He needs a new animation for it to work right. Falling animation is okay, tho.
Yeah, it's the problem with this skeleton. But don't worry ;)
I suppose this will come later, but perhaps you could have Crash's facial expressions change based on the action? For example, should he be free-falling, he should look like he's enjoying it (kinda like in the video). Also, when he's doing a lot of dodging, he should either look scared or concerned. Oh, and PLEASE try to make Crash feel as 'cartooney' as possible, e.g. don't have his expressions rigid; keep them moving and animated. I know you can't do ALL of what was done animation-wise in the original PlayStation Crash Bandicoot games since they used vertex animation instead of bone animation, which Crysis uses, but I just thought I'd give some suggestions. Nice work so far and good luck for the future!
You know it's possible to have a seperate facial animation rig and animation blending, right? That might get the result you're looking for but I'm still an amateur when it comes to 3D animation and modeling.
Absolutely! Both are independent on a human. But Crash is too complex due to its morphology. The facial animations are linked to these movements, as in the series. But I intend to respect the original animations and even add some news ;)
Looks like Crash wants to headbutt something... but from what you said the animations from the Crysis dude are retargeted onto this model. Now to get the facial and body animations done as well as find a good looking spin attack that the model itself can't do alone. Also, try to control the gibs/fractures or whatever spawned by the boxes unless you like diving into a pile of splinters.
Yes, I soon adapted skeleton. But for the fund, I'm looking how to make them destructible only in contact with a jump. It's pretty special to be created with the CryEngine 2 ...
oh my god, his nose is HUGE. I can't take him seriously with a nose like that.
It's great to see that his animation skeleton is up and running, even if he is stuck with Nomad's 'stare at the ground while running' animation for the time being (although, that animation would be alright for a super-speed power, like he got at the end of Crash 3). I'd like to see Aku Aku animated, though.
But if there's one thing I must ask; please give him facial animations. Please. That frozen-face thing he's got going on now is horrifying.
Overall, this is looking really promising: I love what you've done with the crates and crystals.
It's the firsts test, don't worry ! lol And for the nose, it's exaclty the same in the original game, seriously :D
Well, then I guess it's just a bad "in your face" perspective of the camera.
Hmmm... yeah, you're right. I'll surely look better animated, so there's nothing to worry about, I suppose.
Yay updates :D :D :D
Wow Nice Update :D and this looks Nice! :D!
oh..... the nostalgia.... I love this already. I'd download it right now and i'd love it. Even if there is no objective or gameplay.
its a real game,or not?
well, but this game will be released? you are producing? well, if it is I have a tip for you: try to put the bazooka, the same as it has in crash3 ... tries will, be nice!
