Cogs is an innovative puzzle game where players build an incredible variety of machines from sliding tiles. Immersed in a steampunk world with stunning visual design, Cogs is pure eye candy. Players can choose from 50 levels and 3 gameplay modes. New puzzles are unlocked by building contraptions quickly and efficiently. - Inventor Mode: Starting with simple puzzles, players are introduced to the widgets that are used to build machines — gears, pipes, balloons, chimes, hammers, wheels, props, and more. - Time Challenge Mode: If you finish a puzzle in Inventor Mode, it will be unlocked here. This time, it will take fewer moves to reach a solution, but you only have 30 seconds to find it. - Move Challenge Mode: Take your time and plan ahead. Every click counts when you only get ten moves to find a solution.

The latest on what we've been up to at Lazy 8. Art blogs, future updates, and indie showcases - oh my!

Posted by on

First off, a big thankyou to everyone who has tried out the game. The responses so far have been very much positive, which we are of course super happy about.

Lots has been going on at Lazy 8 but we've been a bit quiet due to being busy so I figured I'd drop some newsbytes.

- We're going to E3! Cogs has been selected for the 2009 Indiecade E3 showcase. Shibby!

- I've been posting some looks at early concept art and old builds of Cogs on the Lazy 8 site. Have a look at what the game was like in its infancy:
Part 1
Part 2

- Translations! We need them. We've got some major European languages covered but if you'd like to see Cogs in a language you speak we could use your help. We've set up a wiki with all the text used in the game at Lazy8studios.com.

You may also notice a page on the wiki called "Mods Tutorial." Rob's still working on writing it but if messing with the guts of a game is your thing (which I think may be a fair bet if you're reading this site) you might want to check out what he's got so far. ;)

- Game updates are coming. We're adding widescreen and anti-aliasing support which a lot of people have asked for.

That's all for now. Thanks again to everyone who has played the game so far, and if you haven't you oughta check it out! :)
