Like how it seems to contain a furnace...bit of steampunk hidden in there.

A furnace is still cool...very "doomsday machine"-ish

Description

Let's start with a history lesson. In 1166 AD, the viking warlord Eric the Brutal was feeling that his sword arm was getting kinda tired, stabbing his way through various monasteries, nunneries, and other cloistered religious sites , so he turned to his trusted adviser, Eric the Adviser (it's well known all vikings are named Eric), for advise.

Eric (the Adviser) was well known to be pretty nuts, so he designed this thing and called it the Shredder. It's targeting computer was calibrated to the biological signature of your average friar of the day, but as it so happens this signature is also shared by viking warriors, as Eric the Brutal's entire raiding party was eaten alive by the creature. And the rest was hilarious/tragic history.

Your enemies, unsurprisingly, have adapted the vicious Shredder to their own ends. Of course, that doesn't actually stop it from eating it's allies... but at least more of the time it will only chase space marines.
