In Doom, a military organization opens a portal. This portal leads to hell.

In Half-Life, a secret military weapons project results in a wormhole that allows aliens from another planet to enter ours, and infect us.

...It seems like you (either intentionally or not) have taken pieces from both of these old games, and just slightly remixed them.

It says in the post they opened two portals ;) and the third is caused by static electricity, to me thats nothing like either of them, similar? Maybe, but copied? Not in the slightest ;)

Number of portals has nothing to do with originality. All you're doing is changing how the portal to the antagonistic forces comes about -- not why the experiment was going on -- not that you are using a highly similar antagonistic force.

You're focusing on the least important part of the argument. And don't "wink" like as if I didn't read the post. You're not paying attention to what -I'm- saying. I'm trying to help you avoid falling into the same pit that so many developers and writers before you have been shoved into.

If you can't accept that, then I don't even see the point of you wanting to hear criticism. It's not as if I told you to stop production, or gave you a critique that was longer in length than some novels.

End of the day, there are too many games out there nowa days, something in a game is going to be similar to another, intentional or not, (in my case not) Minecraft doesnt even have a storyline, look at how successful it is, just because its similar doesnt mean its bad,

Then how can we make it better? After all, it does say what needs fixing.

Ok, disregard the last comments then, how can we make it better? After all it does say what needs fixing?

Perhaps consider just about anything. Sci-Fi isn't as bound by grips of reality as you claim. There are still plenty of tasteful, interesting ideas to consider.

Take "Fuzzy Nation", for example. That book, while a remake of an original, has (aside from the fact it is very Batman Begins) plenty of original content. You just need to try and think outside of the box. Yes, there will be some similarities -- but just submitting to it without even trying to go different just means you're making the next CoD-in-space shooter. Indie games especially push for originality, most of the time.

Minecraft's lack of story is part of its success. How does that push your point? It did something few games do, in that respect. It rather goes opposite to what you're trying to argue.

Lastly -- Why is there a Choczy123 and a choczy321? I believe there's a faker in the midst of this discussion.

Nah they are both my account, although I never made it -_- I dunno how that happened, and I see what you mean, but thats just how the first part came around, I could explain everything in video or blog, but thats just the main thing in the story, if you get what Im saying, that is the part that explains how you got stranded on this huge alien planet, I can explain fully if you wish,
