Ballin 0.4 has been released and is now available on Desura. The new patch includes save progression, five new levels, and the start of the "alpha level test". Ballin will now track and save your level completion and star collection progress. For the time being, this functionality can be toggled off in the Options menu. You can also reset your progress.
The Alpha Level Test will gather feedback from players like you on which levels should or shouldn't be included in the final fifty. These levels, color coded for the world in which they could potentially belong to, are available in the new alpha level selection screen. This will ensure that the final version of the game ships with the best fifty levels.
Here are the full patch notes for version 0.4:
- FIXES
- Fixed a bug where the player could collect a star using the Standard form, switch to a form that would otherwise lock out that particular star, and complete the level.
- GENERAL
- Level and star progression is now tracked and saved. You can turn off this feature, unlocking all levels, on the options screen. Saved progress can also be reset on the options screen.
- The application window now has an icon.
- LEVELS
- The new alpha world has begun! This special world, only available in the alpha version, will feature levels that are ready for possible inclusion in the final release of the game. Based on player feedback, these levels could take the place of one of the fifty final levels that will be included in the game. To access this special circuit, click the "more" button on the Level Selection screen.
- Two new levels are available in the Amber world: "Breaking Down Barriers" and "Crosshair".
