Automation's next update will add the ability to manually rev your engine, complete with gauges etc.
Also in the next update:
* Inline Sixes
*Selectable Rocker Covers
*Complete overhaul of all engine calculations for improved realism and gameplay
*New UI Graphics
*BSFC (effeciency) graph.
* Major Art Improvments of many kinds
*Lots of other tweaks and updates
We have not yet announced a release date for this update, but It'll most likely be a few weeks away, Stay tuned for an official date.

Yeah.we're really bad at predicting how long things take
indeed, but atleast this update is going to be epic
