A new alpha version of Asteroid Outpost has been released! Download the latest version from BitBucket. This requires Windows (XP, Vista, Win7, Win8), .Net 4.0, XNA 4.0, and a DX10-capable graphics card. Here is the changelog in (rougly) chronological order:
- New entity: Missile Launcher
- Floating mineral counts from miners
- Solar stations display their power level
- Replaced words with icons where I could
- Progress bars in the selection information
- Upgraded how performance is measured (use -p to enable the performance graph)
- Using AngularJS to simplify data changes on the HUD
- You can now go back to the main menu from inside the game (wow, right?)
- You can win and lose scenarios now
- Scenarios have missions, and if you complete them all, you win
- Using a Fixed timestep. No more unbounded frame rates
- Creating an in-game entity editor
- Components are totally data-driven, loading straight from JSON
- Fixed the flocking algorithm, it mostly works
- Upgraded to Awesomium 1.7
- A number of bug fixes along the way, including those from 6.0 to 6.1:
- Fixed a bug that would cause the game to crash if you had a missile selected when it impacted its target
- Fixed a visual glitch, causing range circles to not scale properly while constructing Laser Towers, Laser Miners, and Missile Towers
- Added Music back in. Let the artists: Sufista and Bignic know what you think!
