Among The Willows is a Wild West exploration based game with turn based tactical shoot-outs. It features permadeath along with a wide range of random events that are influenced by the decisions you make. It takes inspiration from a wide range of sources, including FTL, X-COM, King of Dragon Pass, Zaga-33, High Plains Drifter, The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance and Blood Meridian. Both the world map that you explore and the levels in which the combat takes place are procedurally generated and individual playthroughs are designed to be short, with you leaving your legend to play against in your next game.
You are an individual character in the game, although you can choose to recruit additional gang members. The levelling up options available to you are based on your weapon, your class and you build.
