Today I continued working on getting the inventory and the "by hand" crafting interface ready to imported into the game engine.
Loadouts!
Adventure Craft will have a "Loadout" system that will allow the player to configure their equipment to survive different situations. For example if you plan on fighting night time monsters like vampires you may want to have helmets with lights on them and deployable light sources, and holy water bombs etc. I want the player to be able to easily create loadouts and swap between them for the situation that they are in.
You will be able to have 2 Loadouts equipped at any time. So I added functionality to save a loadout or swap between them quickly and easily. This will be handy so a situation like gathering wood to build a shelter in a dangerous area. So if you are attacked while gathering, you can swap to an offensive loadout, deal with the threat and then go right back to gathering loadout instantly.
Crafting Items by hand
There will be a variety of items that you will be able to craft "by hand" with the crafting menu in your inventory. Just drag the item that you want to manipulate into a slot in the crafting menu. The crafting option icons will become active depending on whats possible with what you have added. Then you simply, cut, combine, or crush the item. The item will be consumed and the result will be added to the box at the bottom which you can continue working with or add to your inventory.
"Advanced Crafting" will be done at Crafting Tables, or workbenches. Their you will have additional options based on the type of table you are working with.
And Finally at the bottom of the screen is your health and quick select items bound to your number keys. This will be for consumable items like food, potions or also things like spell books.
