3089 is a futuristic, procedurally generated, open-world action role-playing game. All terrain, enemies, weapons, items, quests & more are uniquely generated. You are a promising robotic android design, made by the Overlord, placed on planet Xax. Your performance in common combat, support & intel scenarios is being closely watched. However, will you become too much for them to handle? What else on planet Xax exists that the Overlord doesn’t know about?

I defeated the fourth boss, and zapped the pickup robot with the fork-thing, and got a series of messages, the last of which was:

System Override Detected.

Control Lost.

Press to confirm

But when I press escape, it takes me to the main menu and says Game Paused. Is this a bug, or the end of the game? I can still select end game from the menu, and then resume my game from the latest backup point, and I get grabbed again and the process repeats.

A similar thing happens if I let the pickup robot take me into orbit, so I kind of think this is the ending, but I want to be sure the game isn't just glitching out... If it is the end, a proper "Game Over" or "A winner is you!" message would clear things up!

Yes, that is one of the game endings :)

I found the third ending, wherein you can shoot the pickup ship and both sides get mad at you... but you can still keep playing.

I found a similar thread on reddit - a quick little "Game Over - reload to try again" message might be nice for the message endings, because it feels a lot like the message should close when the player presses escape. Don't forget - the player doesn't know if they are going to wake up in another place after the fade to black. Or after the third ending - "Game Over - but you can still keep playing."

Just a thought. Thanks for the Game!
