3079 is a futuristic, open-world action first-person role playing game. You arrive on a planet experiencing constant war. It is your duty to find out why the warring factions cannot find peace on their own & hopefully restore it yourself. All areas, buildings, items, quests and characters are randomly generated. You will find unique lands & challenges. I hope you enjoy it! "Just want to say again that this is a great game! For those of you who feel like its a minecraft copy just beacuse of the cube textures used you really need to rethink what a game is about! The game play of 3079 is nothing like minecraft it is pretty unique as well as how the weapons all have diffrent stats and colors kind of reminds me of Borderlands. However it is still an original idea for a game and i still play it from time to time. You should at least try the demo and if you like it please buy it and support fruit! :D Still give it a 9/10 ! Best Regards, Adam" -- SeaNanners Sequel @ 3089game.wordpress.com

I just bought it via gamersgate and after installing it wont startup, I press the exe file and it doesnt do anything if I go into task manager and go to processes I can see that 3079 starts up very briefly then shuts down.

Can you try running it via the command line?

1) Windows key + R should bring up a run window, enter in "cmd"
2) Navigate to the 3079 directory via "cd" commands (e.g. "cd /Program Files/3079")
3) Run it ("java -Xmx1024M -jar 3079.exe")

Hopefully this should show some more error info..

Ok, I did what you said and it came up with this java is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. I have installed the very latest version of java and my gpu is a Nvidia Geforce gts 240 if that helps any.

Hrm, can you try downloading and installing the Java development kit? Then these commands should work...

Oracle.com

Still says the same thing.

Hrm... you must have java.exe somewhere, it just isn't part of your "command path" (which should have been set when installing the development kit).

java.exe is probably located in a directory called C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.7\bin\, but it could be C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.7\bin\ ... have to do some exploring. Then, when you find it, you can do this:

"c:\program files\Java\jdxxxxx\bin\java.exe -Xmx1024M -jar 3079.exe"

Unable to access jarfile 3079.exe

Jun 24 2012 Anchor

OK, making progress :P Make sure you are in the location where 3079.exe is. This should be the c:/program files/3079/ directory, or something similar.

Yea the 3079 is located here C:\Program Files (x86)\3079, I also have multiple locations for java C:\Program Files (x86)\Java But it has jdk1.7.0_05, jre6, and jre7. There is also one in the regular program files not x86 C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_22

Hmmm it just started up. I have no idea what I did or what happened

So far working well.

Interesting, maybe it was a Java problem, and re-installing it helped..? Anyway, glad it is working!

I also have a problem. When i tried to start up though Desura, it says Preparing.... then it disappears and does not load up. Thank you in advance :)

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Desura installation? Sounds like Desura isn't initiating the program correctly...
