3079 is a futuristic, open-world action first-person role playing game. You arrive on a planet experiencing constant war. It is your duty to find out why the warring factions cannot find peace on their own & hopefully restore it yourself. All areas, buildings, items, quests and characters are randomly generated. You will find unique lands & challenges. I hope you enjoy it! "Just want to say again that this is a great game! For those of you who feel like its a minecraft copy just beacuse of the cube textures used you really need to rethink what a game is about! The game play of 3079 is nothing like minecraft it is pretty unique as well as how the weapons all have diffrent stats and colors kind of reminds me of Borderlands. However it is still an original idea for a game and i still play it from time to time. You should at least try the demo and if you like it please buy it and support fruit! :D Still give it a 9/10 ! Hello!
I tried this game over at my buddies place and here are some things I liked and did not that might be helpful in improving the game... Overall its merely my opinion and ideas.. Im not trying to diss the game in any way..
1) intro.. Falling from the sky into the unknown world is quite confusing the first game.. Being sucked in by an odd mob and insta killed even more so..
Id prefer a small scenario introduction. Something like being aboard an HQ ship with debriefing or better yet, a crash landing before comms with HQ are reestablished...
2) mobbs.. This is the biggest turn off for me honestly... I have no problem with how the mobs look, but having 2 story tall aliens becomes silly FAST. Demons dont seem to belong honestly.. It should be more sci fi and less fantasy. Having giant wild creatures is fine, just not the warring sentient factions...
3) Large spaceships that float are little but an upside down houses (now it cannot be unseen: ) To solve it, simply add a second roof to give it a diamond appearance..
4)Mining/digging.. I know there are plenty of people that are turned off by the resemblance to minecraft, but not me.. Still its a little disappointing that it is limited in underground construction.. Having underground cities/bunkers/bases makes it more interesting.
5) Resources.. The war/story makes little sense.. (again, my issue with sci fi demons and oversized mobs ties in here) Having factions fighting over some resources would make more sense. A metal mine, Agriculture domes, Research labs, Electronics factory and even Residence would give MUCH needed fleshing to both story and content..
6) Story.. Coming back to storyline.. It kinda sucked to finish the game. I think there could be a way to deepen and expand by having different wolrds/planets that player teleports to after finishing the main quest. Where between each game you go back to your HQ/mothership for next assignment. Maybe even advance through ranks to eventually having the ability to be in command. Customizing the mothership as you earn income..
7) Spaaace.. If above story change is considered, then why not having some instances space only combat? Where only ships are allowed and spacewalks are restricted by oxygen timer?
8) Player customization.. Ability to pick the looks of how your marine looks like... Maybe this will even influence how the race looks at HQ...
9) Colonies... Settle, manage and defend a colony... This could possibly supply resources, food and troops for your faction. Researching better weapons and equipment allowing you to take on higher assignments from HQ (mid-high game)
10) Loosing gear.. From watching some old videos, It seems that when you died in the past, all the loot was dropped and there was a timer that allowed a player to pick it back up.. Now we lose only one item.. Is it possible to "lock" a given amount of items? Maybe return the timer so we can pick the lost item up aswell? This keeps from losing essential things such as Jet packs, armor or best weapon... Or at least, gives a chance to get it back up...
11) Item durability.. It would makes sense for weapons to wear out and break... A broken equipment is unusable and must be repaired before being usable.. Repair at vendor or with mined materials by using engineer skill...
12) Item customization.. So far, when upgrading stats on an item it is random.. I think it would be better if a player had more control of the outcome.. Something like, if you want to increase a movement speed, you have to use a movement chip. For energy recharge, well recharge chip.. etc...
13) Npc AI... It was disappointing to find that computer controlled enemy does not open doors or seek a better line of sight... Can this be improved?

Well.. for now Im out of ideas... Here some things I enjoyed so I dont sound like I hated the game completely.. :)
1) Rpg aspect.. The gear.. Keeps one playing... The biggest fun in the game is this.. Looking for a better gear is AWESOME.. Wish there was more variety in guns/armor though...
2) Fighters!! Demons and flying fat 2 story monsters aside, this was a soothing to the eye to see lol.. More sci fi please!! The fighters feel nice to pilot! Very smooth!
wish we could customize them a bit though.. Adding shields, cloak, thrusters.. Well the usual sci fi stuff :)
3) Buildings and vibe... I loved how this gave me old doom/duke nukem nostalgia.. I never liked arcade like shooters and preferred RPG and strategy play, but this felt as if it mixed the best of the two worlds! Opening doors to fight off an alien captain was great at first!

Again... Im in no way putting the game down.. Just my honest and open opinion...
Hope to see this game succeed... I would not buy it as it is now, but definitely keeping my eye on it!

Wow, quite the exhaustive list!

3079 is complete, so I won't be making such drastic changes as you suggest. Sounds like you generally don't agree with the story (demons, intro etc.), among other things. I worked with Joshua Caleb to come up with the story, which I believe came out pretty good, although it is a bit light.

The topic of not losing items on death has been discussed many times, but it basically is the penalty of death & any removal of death penalties will make players not fear death like they should.

Anyway, if you are looking for something different (which it looks like you are), you should look into 3079's sequel, 3089:

3089 is still in heavy development & you may see some of the gameplay elements (like better item customization) you are looking for there :)
