0 A.D. is a free, open-source, cross-platform real-time strategy (RTS) game of ancient warfare. It's a historically-based war/economy game that allows players to relive or rewrite the history of twelve ancient civilizations, from Iberia to Mauryan India, each depicted at their peak of economic growth and military prowess. Developed using Pyrogenesis, a ground-breaking new game engine custom-built to suit this project, 0 A.D. will give players a rich and entertaining real-time gaming experience.

Working on unit portraits for 0 A.D. is a great way to add to an artist's portfolio and help develop a FOSS video game at the same time.
His eyes...
It stares threw my soul...
Heh, not bad at all! I like it.
Its not bad at all, but for my taste its to cartoony.
At this size yes, but at the size it is used in-game it isn't imho :)
Haven't thought about Attic-pottery styled images for Greek units? :P
Looks nice, but it lacks contrast IMO.
it will end up a tiny pic like in c&c games so im sure it does not matter.
Actually, without decent contrast there might be issues in such a small image.
However, I think it'll work out OK. Perhaps a background with a more contrasting colour would help, but the polished shield and helmet stand out really well.
Depth is a bit off around the neck band. Also, you may want to close his mouth and have his eyes pointing somewhere else.
His mouth is closed.
