Hello everyone,,

I would like to introduce everyone here to a new podcast that us (Mattias Van Camp (me), Jason Lavoie and Wiktor öhman) have put together;
We have released the first two episodes already, and we launched last week on wednesday - our website can be found here:

www.thegamedevcast.com

so why are we coming to indieDB?

Royalmovingco.com

Well, the premise of the podcast itself is to provide not only a podcast where game developers from all around the industry (with no distinction based on where you work, everyone is welcome to be a guest, indie and AAA alike) come to talk about current events and games, but also to (hopefully) present a platform for indie games to be featured and exposed on;

every week, we pick one indie game, that is at least at a stage in its development where gameplay is working, and either gameplay footage has been released, or a working demo is out there. That game then becomes our "Indie Game of the Week".
This basically means that that game gets a week-lonk permalink on the right side of the website (every page), with one link to wherever the developer wants. Aside from that, the game also gets a full feature on our indie games page (click on "indie games we like" on top), where we post footage, images, and information along with any links the developer would like to see.

But there's more! We also invite the developer for the week's IGotW to come on the podcast and talk about his/her game, at the end of the podcast.
In addition to all of this, the game also gets a couple of posts in our social feeds throughout the week.

So that's quite a bit of exposure!

"but WHY ARE YOU HERE?" i hear you asking. Indeed, I haven't answered that question, although it should be pretty obvious by now :p

we are looking for indie games to feature! Obviously, we don't have the resources (or time) to comb out the internet every week for an interesting game to feature, so we're counting on the community to send us suggestions for games to feature!

So, if you're a developer with an indie game that needs exposure, or you simply know of a great indie game that you think deserves more attention than it's gotten, please e-mail us at:

contact@thegamedevcast.com

remember; we need to see functioning gameplay! no concept art, no game pitches, design documents or rough ideas; we need gameplay to show, anything beyond that is extra :)

We are also still looking for guests, so if you want to be a guest on this podcast send us an e-mail at the above adress, and we'll put you on the list :) (yes, there is a list, it's first-come-first-serve, i'm afraid)

one thing worth mentioning is that we don't limit the indie games page to just the indie game of the week; we also regularly feature other, smaller, or somewhat different indie games that we still think our interesting, but just didn't make the cut for indie game of the week. We take these out of the suggestions for IGotW, so please, send us suggestions!

for those of you who may have missed anything, all our information is below:
